Dear All

Please help me in getting right

· I got my PR in 2008 and returned back to Pakistan.

· In July 2008, I was blessed with baby boy; however, delivery was made in Islamabad.

· In order to apply for sponsorship, I went to Canada in September 2009 and filed application.

· I came back before getting eligibility.

· In January 2010, CPC declared ineligibility (as I was outside Canada) and moved my file to CHC ISB.

· Now I have received sponsorship evaluation letter from CHC ISB to fill time period along with activities for last five years in Canada and in Pakistan.

CHC has given me deadline of July 15th for submission of sponsorship of form.

I was planning to relocate permanently to Canada in September 2010. I would be applying for new sponsorship application and once I get eligibility, I will request CHC ISB to make decision considering my assessment of edibility as per new application.

As they have provided sponsorship form and given short timeline. I wanted to know that on what basis I shall request CHC ISB to hold / delay processing of my older file for 2-3 months. What is the best statement that sounds negative but will reinforce them to hold / delay decision for two to three months.

Please help me as I am really confused and have no visibility what to do.

I will be personally obliged.

They will not hold an application you will have to withdraw the app and once you get the letter of withdraw you can start again in Canada. You need to figure out if you yourself have broken the residency rules of your PR this could be the reason they are asking for your timelines of where you have been.Look up the PR residency rules.

Hi,

I have similar situation, but I have started the application of my dependent child. I have few doubts on the process to sponsor the child.
First one is that is it not possible to do an in-land immigration of the dependent? If I get a visitor visa for my dependent and take her to Canada and then apply for immigration for her from Canada, wouldn't it be better? Better in the sense that the processing time might be lesser than doing it from home country.
Second, I am bit confused about the forms that need to be filled. I checked on cic.gc about the forms but found most of them are not required for dependent. Can you confirm which forms did you fill up? I guess one of the forms require signature of the applicant. How do an applicant of 1 year can sign the forms? I hope for dependent/minor case, one may require parent authorization and I am yet to explore it.

I also have a concern on my own PR as I do get thoughts quite often that since we came back to home country after becoming PR to deliver baby, the CIC might not consider PR of my child.

Any other advice on dependent immigration would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

I heard other posters said that can do inland for dependents. Maybe you need to phone the Call Centre to get the form for the dependent child.

It's not always a given that you can get a TRV for the child to come with you. You should look into that first. Sometimes, children of PR's are denied TRV's based on that they will be staying in Canada permanently. If the embassy denies you a TRV, you can ask them if you can apply for a TRP. If you can't, then you must go to Canada alone to sponsor the child. As a PR, you must be in Canada yourself in order to sponsor your child. You can not do it from your homeland. This is why the original poster had a problem.
