Sponsorship in two countries

Hi,

I am a Canadian citizen living in Australia and waiting on my permanent residency here through spousal sponsorship. My spouse and I have decided to go to Canada for 1 year, possibly 2, to live and work. Although the ultimate goal is not for him to become a permanent resident in Canada, it seems the easiest way for him to get an open work permit to work while we are in Canada. So, my question is can I sponsor him to be a permanent resident in Canada while I myself am waiting on my permanent residency in Australia? Or is this frowned upon?

Thanks!

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
1.Open work permit is for inland app. so your spouse have to be in Canada to apply .
He can apply for OWP with his inland sponsorship, but OWP is normally for a year and not extendable.
so after his owp expired , he has to apply for work permit.

2.if he can apply for working holiday visa, it might be faster and economical way to come/work in Canada.
or get job offer in Canada and apply for work permit.

3. outland app process faster than inland app. if you are not rush to come to Canada, your spouse can apply in Australia.
if his PR app is approved, he does not need any permit to work in Canada.

4. not sure how it works with your sponsorship app in Australia.
hopefully other members would answer that.

I don't think there will be an issue if both you and your spouse sponsor each other for PR in each others country. Someone who has been in a similar situation might be able to share more information from his/her experience. It will cost more though.

I think, as also suggested by floomy, Working Holiday Visa might be a better option.
