My Canadian common-law partner has been living in the UK with me for the past two years. I'm a UK Citizen applying for PR under the Common-Law route.

We are currently filling out the Sponsorship Evaluation Form...

It asks for her income. In the UK she is self-employed, as we run a business together. Does she put down her UK salary, converted into Dollars? Or is she technically unemployed, as she isn't working in Canada?

Also - with regards to question 5. Under 'Current Undertaking' does she put down '1' (me?), as I am named as the Principal Applicant in Section C of the Appliation for Sponsor and Undertaking?

Or does she instead include me in section 6 (a)?

This is all so confusing!

I am not sure about income part, I am sure senior members will get back to you on this.

In my application, I had "1" in 5.A) and total was "2" which is point # 6. I guess I was right as my application for sponsorship has been approved. :)

Hope this helps...

She should just put her UK income in UK currency. If they wanted to convert that to dollars they could, but for a partner/spousal sponsorship, the amount is actually irrelevant because this type of sponsor is exempt from income requirements.
