I've read the instructions a hundred times, but I'm still not clear on this.

Background: I was born in Canada. I sponsored my US husband and he is now a PR here. He is now going to sponsor his 11 year old to be a PR here in Canada.

Number of Family Members and Persons Included in Undertakings In Effect and Not Yet In Effect

We filled this out just showing my husband and his son - total 2 people, because I'm not involved in being sponsored.

But in the next section it says, "6A - Your spouse or common-law partner if not listed on the Generic Application Form for Canada (IMM0008), in box #3 under section Application Details.

Well, I guess that's me - I'm his spouse. But I'm not involved in an Undertaking.

I don't know whether to put me or not??

Can I call CIC about questions like that?

Yes, he must list you in 6A. It doesn't refer to those in an undertaking. It refers to all other people not included in the application that are dependents of the sponsor. It's just to let CIC know that the sponsor has another person that they are responsible for.

For example:

If you and your spouse had kids, they would have to be included in 6B. They aren't included in the app but are dependents of the sponsor.

If your spouse was the sole provider for a disabled sibling, that sibling would need to be included in 6B. Again, not included in the app but a dependent of the sponsor.

If your spouse was sponsoring his parents, you would still need to be listed in 6A and his son would need to be listed in 6B.
