Sponsorship Child born outside Canada to PR Parents

Dear Experts.

Need help on following two points.

Our Child is born outside canada and I am currently working abroad. Myself & Spouse are both have PR but we need to return Canada by end of July-2014 to keep our PRC requirement.

1) How will be bring the child back to Canada with us in July?
2) Is there any Tax of the foreign salary if we did not live in Canada (except for Landing 1 month)

First of all, you would need to get a visitor visa for your child so the child can come with you assuming the child is born in visa required country.

If child is born in visa exempt country, the child can come with you. You would need to keep extending visitor stay while child is with you in Canada.

You would also have to sponsor your child for PR to Canada and outland is the only option.

If your child cannot get visitor visa to Canada, you may have no choice but to leave child with close family member when you go back to Canada and start the PR sponsorship for your child.

Unless other senior members know something I don't, I believe those are your options.

Canada does not tax those who are working outside Canada and are not residents of Canada. You don't have to file your foreign income when it comes to filing Canada income tax.

You only file the Canadian taxes for when you were in Canada as a resident.

Thanks for the information. As mentioned I will be applying for my child Sponsorship in few months. In the Checklist it is mentioned Option-C Printout. Since I have never worked in Canada. After landing stayed 1 month in Canada , got PR and went back abroad to continue the Job. The PRC was issued to us on 2012. Since according to rules we can stay 3 years out of 5 abroad to maintain the residency . In application to Sponsorship , I mentioned that I am working abroad since 2012.

1) I don't need to submit Option-C ? What should I write in the letter instead of Option-C.
2) Which Visa should I apply for my child . Visitor or TRV? after sponsor him from Canada?

You don't need an Option-C if you have never been a tax-resident of Canada. Supply proof of local income and/or tax paid.
Your child will probably not be granted a TRV and you will have to apply for a TRP instead.

Please note : your residency obligation requirements are counted from the day you landed, not any date on the actual PR card. You may have less time than you thought if you were not aware of this.
