Hello everybody!
I’m having trouble filling out the forms for sponsorship regarding my husbands residency.
He is Canadian citizen and sponsoring me (German). We are planning on filing early September.
We are in Germany right now, he is on a Working-Holiday-Visa, which expires in October, so we are flying back to Canada at the end of October.
We don’t have an address here in Germany, because we are travelling and short-term working, living on a campground right now. As a mailing address in general we’re using my parents address, where we also stayed 4 months last winter.
I was planning on using his parents address in Canada as his mailing and residential address, because that’s where we will be living, when we go to Canada until I get my PR.
Now for the question : Do you reside in Canada and in no other country? I guess I have to put No. Will it go against putting a Canadian address as his residential address? Or do I put Yes, because he is not a resident of Germany, so must be still a resident of Canada ?????
Then in the sponsor’s questionnaire question 8: Have you resided in countries other than Canada?
If he is still considered a resident of Canada, can a just answer NO?
If not, which address do I put there? My parents address, where my official residence is? Although we were not staying there the whole time.
In general I was thinking of answering all the question as not residing in Canada, which will mean, they will want proof of him re- establishing. I was just wondering, if doing that and putting his parents (Canadian )address as his residential address, will be wrong.
Can I just explain the whole thing on a separate sheet of paper?
I hope I don’t sound too confusing.
Thanks for your help!

He is not exclusively residing out of Canada so you shouldn't checkmark that. He is only on a one year work visa. To the question: Do you reside in Canada and in no other country? you can answer "No, see attached." To the question: Have you resided in countries other than Canada? you can answer "Yes, see attached." Then on the attached statement, you explain how he has resided in Canada since childhood until he got a working holiday visa to go to Germany for a year which will soon be ending.

that's what I had in mind too. But for the Question in the Sponsor Eligibility Assessment: Do you reside in Canada and in no other country? If you answered NO, but are a Canadian citizen living exclusively outside Canada, you may still be eligible to sponsor.
As you said, he is not living exclusively outside Canada. Do I still check NO?

I would check "no" then say "see attached", and then attach a note explaining his situation.
The "living exclusively outside Canada" part does not mean that only two types of people can sponsor: Canadians living only in Canada, and Canadians living only outside Canada. Though I get that a perfect reading of that sentence would lead you to believe that was the case. Actually, Canadians living in Canada sometimes and outside Canada sometimes can also sponsor - just explain the situation in your application.
