sponsor's PR card needs renew during application

My husband is a PR and his PR card needs to be renewing this October. We all live in Canada and he stayed in Canada for more than 2 years.
We mailed the app of renew PR card this July. Also did family sponsorship this August.

But till today we heard nothing about renewing PR or FCS applications.

Will his PR situation effect our family sponsorship application? What should I do now?

PR card renewal applications are currently taking 156 days to process. CIC is working on applications from May and it will be another two months or so before they reach your husband's renewal application.

It's not a problem
My wife's card was 3 months expired when we sent in our app and nothing happened. We even have to apply for csq.
It's only the card, not the status whi expires.
