Sponsors passport expired

Hi guys,

My sponsor and I applied for Family Class (common-law) inland on May 19th last year, and we sent a copy of her passport and Canadian birth certificate along with the application.

Her passport has since expired, and I'm wondering whether we need to send a new copy of it to CIC, as the checklist originally asked for ONE of the following:

- Birth Certificate
[...]
- Pages from Canadian Passport

No, you sent in her passport information when it was still valid and she won't need an updated one unless she is planning a trip outside of the country. Yours, as the applicant however, can no be allowed to lapse so keep up with your expiry date

passport only needed if she needs to travel.

yours is the only passport that needs to remain valid.
