Hey guys! In few days from now i'll be receiving my landed status. Im single and looking forward on sponsoring my single mom how's does this process work and what do i need to provide, do i need to be a citizen of immigrant is just fine? Any inputs would be deeply appreciated. Thanks

You can sponsor your parents as a PR (you don't have to be a citizen). You must be physically living in Canada while sponsoring. You must also meet the low income cut off (LICO) which means you must be making a certain amount of money in order to sponsor your parent. If your single and only plan to sponsor your mother (no dependent siblings), then you must be making $27,674 to sponsor.

You should also be aware that the wait is very long (5+ years). The first stage of processing (Mississauga) takes 41 months. The second stage of processing happens at the local office and approximately processing times are posted here:
