Hello I am a Canadian citizen looking to sponsor my wife and getting married in the summer, I like to know which routes/methods is best to go when I need to bring her with me right away after the wedding, do I apply her as a visitor visa to see her husband right now and later send in the marriage sponsorship while in Canada with her does that work?

Why is this so complicated with immigration, she is my wife and well you just automatically become family than why is it such a hassle to go all through the paperwork, isn't there an easy way to reunite with your wife even though her status isn't canadian temporarily until she gets her PR

I am also on ODSP I am disabled but she isn't is there a quicker way for a disabled to go through or is it the same if you were disabled or not

The sponsorship process for you is the same as for anyone else. There is no special process for those who are disabled.

The process is complicated because there has been so much spousal sponsorship fraud in the past. CIC needs to make sure you are a genuine couple and that your spouse isn't just using you as a way of getting to Canada.

If you want your spouse to come with you right after the wedding, then you will have to try applying for a TRV (tourist visa). If the TRV is approved, you can then sponsor your spouse from Canada once you both arrive here using either the inland or outland sponsorship process. If the TRV is refused, your spouse will have to remain outside of Canada while the application is processed. You can either return to Canada or wait outside of Canada with her.

is there a difference between the visitor visa and tourist visa or which is quicker to get, can I apply for both if they're different and depend on either one? a multiple entry visa lasts for 10 years is that a better option?

It will be almost impossible to get any visitor visa for your wife (tourist=visitor, single entry/multiple entry) because she is not able to prove that she will go back after a visit.

what about the multiple entry visa, its pretty new and just started in 2014 do you still need to prove your going back it lasts for up to 10 years she can go back every 6 months without needing a renewal and until I get legal status of marriage in Canada would it still work that way

It does not matter. The problem is with a proof and not a kind of visa.
Well just say she was able to prove that she was going back to see her family and come back which in case of multiple entry visa works without having to renew it since it lasts and by then I would have a legal status for her to be here

Unfortunately, CIC does not work in such a way. She is your wife then sponsor her. As a Canadian citizen you can do it from outside of Canada. However, you need to show that you are going back to live in Canada when your wife gets her PR.

If you cannot stay with her all that time- you still have some options:
--go back to Canada alone , and apply for sponsoring her to Canada
--try to get her any visitor visa you wish (but chances are slim that she gets it)

She can prove she is going back as she has never been outside Libya and has strong relations is a citizen and has most of her family there, however she does have her brother in Canada which I forgot to mention on a student sponsorship

But she is ready to leave them FOREVER to live with you in Canada? :) Well, then she may enjoy her stay with them a little bit longer till she gets her PR.

Really, you are a citizen, you may do whatever you wish in terms of immigration processes for your wife. But there is just no guarantee that she will get a "visitor" visa for your and her convenience.

LOL it sounds like she is being forced to stay until I get her legal status, it's disappointing since you never know the length of processing times for an application

I agree, it is difficult to live so far apart from our loved ones.
But usually it does not take so long for a sponsored wife to get her PR. People say 6-8 months most.
And you can go and visit her and you may try to get her a visitor visa (it's worth to try , miracles happen all the time! :))
