I'm a naturalized Canadian and my wife is a Filipina citizen and we are about to do all the paperwork that needs to be done for her sponsorship. We have a 1 year old daughter and I've already applied for her Certificate of Canadian Citizenship this year at the Canadian Embassy in Manila. As I was reading the questionnaire there's a few questions that came to mind. Will my daughter fall into the "Accompanying dependendent children"? on the form Application to Sponsor and Undertaking question C number 3? I'm aware I don't have to sponsor my daughter since she inherit my citizenship, however, our daughter will obviously be accompanying us by the time my wife's application is approve. I just don't want the hassle at the immigration as to why my daughter wasn't included as accompanying dependent etc etc etc....

In my mind I don't need to include her since she's automatically a Canadian Citizen and she'll be carrying a Canadian passport or visa (I'm not really sure though). However, I just want to be safe make sure I'm doing the right thing.

Any help, thoughts or family who had the same situation I have right now feel free to shed some lights into these complicated process of Sponsorship

Thank You
Mike

1. She is not included on the application only on the IMM 5406.

No - because that's the form where you put the names of people that need to be sponsored - and your daughter is not in that case.
She will be on the "additional family information" form.
Good luck,

Thank You. I guess I shouldn't be in that column too since I'm the one sponsoring.
Correct! :) the forms are confusing - don't hesitate to ask here if you have doubts - and also follow the guideline question by question -it's quite detailed and can help quite a bit!
