Sponsoring Spouse with existing loan in home country.

Hi everyone both my husband and I live exclusively outside of Canada and both currently have personal loans with our local bank. Can we go forward with our application to migrate to Canada without clearing these loans and continue paying them or do we have to clear all existing debts before applying?
Anyone have or had a similar situation? any info will be appreciated!
