I am a Canadian citizen ,married in Chile to a Chilean for the past 14 years (our children also have their citizenship). Now we want to move to Canada and are applying under Family Class (abroad application). However, I would like to know how am I , as the Canadian, supposed to “sponsor” my husband, if I don`t actually live in Canada so therefore do not have a salary?
I have no bankruptcy history, and basically no financial history at all in Canada as I left when I was 18 and only worked part time and had a saving account at CIBC for direct deposit of my monthly paycheck.
Of course our intention is to arrive to Canada, rent/lease a house and both get jobs ASAP- both of us would since if my husband gets his Permanent Residency under Family Class application, then he would legally be entitled to work as soon as we arrive. Still..I am distressed over the whole “sponsorship thing since like I said I have no way of currently “sponsoring” him.
Please some insight on the issue.
Thanks
