Sponsoring Spouse from Beijing..

Hello

Is anyone else having trouble with correspondence from Beijing?
We sent our application in November, and on Dec 3 were told that a decision has been made and it has been sent in the mail.

This letter still hasnt come. I got in touch with CIC Mississauga and they said that I was approved as a sponsor and the application has been sent to beijing.

but here are the problems:

1. We never actually received the letter, not yet. Its been over 2 months.
2. We dont know if our application actually reached Beijing or not. Im wondering if they should have contacted us?
3. Our online status is messed up. It said decision made for a very long time under sponsorship applicaion status. and then the entire file disappeared. It reappeared a few weeks later but now it says in process:

We started processing your application on December 3, 2012.

We sent you a letter on December 3, 2012 about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

So i dont know whats going on.

N last problem : no one will tell us anything. I sent emails, filled out the forms to request an update and called Beijing. But nothing. someone please help! is this normal?

Are you getting notifications by email? If so, then the sponsor approval letter should have been attached to an email in pdf form. In cases where email is used CIC doesn't actually send out a letter via snail-mail for the sponsor approval.

What does it say when you log in using applicant's info (not sponsor's)? This should tell you current status, and if this says "in process" and "medicals received" then your application is currently in Beijing being processed.

Thankyou for your help!!

I just found an alternate number to call CIC Misssissauga and it worked.

The agent on the phone said that I have approved as a sponsor and that the file was sent to ottawa instead of beijing for the "second part" of processing
I sent an email to ottawa already. but im confused now. why would they send it to ottawa? is that a good thing or a bad thing?
Is it normal that no one contacted us to let us know any of this?
Also, would the processing time now go according to beijing or ottawa?
