Hi,

Im sponsoring my husband from Afghanistan and this is 2 years that we are waiting with no response from Visa office. Anyone knows who should we contact?
Also if we apply for a temporary visa or a conditional visa will they issue us one? and if not will it affect our case?

Thanks

Hello Nasria

I am in the same situations as you. I could not give you any helpful info, but i know that you can fax the visa office in Islamabad and ask them directly and leave your return fax number.
I have yet to try that my self.
What is am worried about is if they have the correct mailing address or not. I had to change mine. Is your mail address in Kabul or another part?
Anyway if I can be any help to you ask away.

Thank you

Hi Nadia,

I heard that they'll not reply even if I'll fax or email because our application is within normal processing time- 32 months which is crazy. What I don't understand is why it's taking so long, if they don't have enough employees they should hire more and to do a security check on someone it'll take less then 6 months. I'm so upset that no body care about us.

If you changed your address on CIC website you're good and if your husband moved he could do the same by logging to CIC website with his ID and update his address.
AS you know there is no residential postal address and we open a PO box in Kabul for my husband.
When did they send your case to Islamabad and do u live in ON?

I wish luck to both of us.

Why don't you guys speak to your Member of Parliament? I found that if the MP emails the embassy on your behalf, they are more prompt in replying and in some cases fast-forward your case as well.

That's fine if u haven't heard anything yet, there is couple members that are on the forum that has been more than 2 years. I just got my remed for my wife couple days ago. Now to check your address and email address if it's correct on their system or not just order your GCMS notes and if you read the notes properly u will find another UCI number that belongs to your spouse in Afghanistan and now with this UCI number u can login to ECAS and check the other address. I will recommend all Afghan bros/sisters that as we all know that their is no proper addresses in Afghanistan so PLEASE fill out IMM5476 Use of a Representative and email it to New Delhi also fax it as well now with this form all the correspondence will be comimg to your Canadian mailing address or email address.

I called CIC and the agent told me that only few cases have been transferred to India, reasons based on the cases. If Islamabad visa office will transfer any case to India they will notify the sponsor.
