I am a Canadian citizen applying to sponsor my South African common law partner. I have been living and working with my partner in Vietnam for 3 years.
I understand from the application checklist that we will both need to obtain a police check from Vietnam and he will need to obtain a police check from South Africa. I’m wondering - do I need a police check from Canada? I haven’t lived here for three years but do come home every summer as I’m a teacher. I don’t see on the checklist that I need one from Canada but I want to make sure.
Anyone have any insight on this?
