Sponsoring Siblings

Hey guys,

I have a question I was wondering if you could help me out with. I read somewhere that you can't sponsor your siblings but someone just told me that if they are over 18 years and we are both not married then I can sponsor them. Is that true?

Unfortunately you do not qualify to sponsor your siblings.

If you were single, had no children and your parents were both deceased then you might qualify. However since you were sponsored for PR, at a minimum you have a spouse / partner. This makes you ineligible.

I'm not sponsored for PR. I'm applying through CEC and if I do get it by the end of the year that's when I'll start sponsoring since they are reopening the class again.

So basically only if my parents were deceased would I be able to sponsor my sibling?

My mistake.

Yes - if your parents were both deceased and you also had no other family / relatives in Canada then you migh qualify to sponsor your siblings.
