When you apply to sponsor your pregnant wife, do you need to meet the minimum necessary income requirements? Do you have to send in extra paperwork because of the pregnancy?

The x-ray for the medical exam will be done after delivery, do you have to send in more paperwork (besides the x-ray results) to the visa office after the bay is born (baby will be born in Canada)?

There is no minimum income for sponsoring your wife, regardless of pregnancy or dependent children. You just need to be able to convince CIC that you won't require social assistance.

CIC will just require the completed medical. The baby is Canadian, so not being sponsored and thus only needs to be listed on the additional family information page.

Hopefully you are in a province that extends medical care to your spouse!

Good luck.

Thanks for the clear answer! So you add the unborn baby under children on the additional family information page already? Or would you add an additional sheet and explain the situation?

I`m in alberta.

no / you don't add the baby until he/she is born. You can explain that your wife is pregnant, and once you have a file number when CIC has opened your application, you can send in the proof ( birth certificate etc) together with the x-ray for medicals once you are able to do them.

Hope it helps!
