Hi,

We have activated our PR and we are currently living in USA and our baby will be born in USA. We have decided to move to Canada after baby is born due to health insurance reasons. Has anyone taken the baby along with you while moving to Canada and then sponsored the baby while living in Canada? Will the baby also get health insurance while waiting for PR in Canada?

You can apply from within Canada. As PRs, the sponsor has to be living in Canada anyway. However, the child will only be a "foreign national" and subject to the normal limits for visitor entry. The child will probably not have any problems entering Canada but it's not guaranteed. It will be required to ensure that the child's visitor visa is extended if the entry is more than 6 months before landing as a PR. Not sure about health insurance. That may depend on the province.

We are planning to move to Ontario. So how would the health insurance work there.

The baby won't have health care coverage until he/she is a PR. You'll need to purchase private insurance to cover your baby for emergencies and pay for non-emergency care out of your own pocket.
