I'm sponsoring my parents/brother to Canada as a PR (I am a PR myself) and currently am working on the application. I meet the income requirements myself - is there any benefits I'm not aware of to still having my spouse co-sponsor?

Let's say your income drops for some reason unexpectedly. Having your common law partner cosign could protect you against this. You need to continue to meet the income requirements until the application is finalized

Thank you for mentioning this. Is my income something they continue to review throughout the application process? If it drops, would I have the opportunity to add a co-sponsor at that point?
