Sponsoring parents in Quebec vs Rest of the country

Hello folks,

I've been reading information on CIC regarding family sponsorship and slightly getting confused. From my understanding so far; applying for parent sponsorship anywhere except Quebec, the applicant has to have minimum set income for 3 years prior applying. However, on the website linked by CIC for Quebec, the rules are only for 12 months. Is that true? What's different between the two sponsorship programs?

Yes - that's correct. It's the same program - there are different (more lax) financial requirements for sponsors living and working in Quebec.

Just need to live there at time you submit the app and during processing until parents become PRs.
