I am a PR in Canada and citizen of India. I am thinking of sponsoring my parents as PR to live with me here. Unfortunately my birth (in 1987) was never registered and I do not have a birth certificate. It is a big hassle in my state to re register it and I am not willing to go through all that.

So I cannot show birth certificate as a 'Proof of principal applicant's relationship to sponsor'. As per the document checklist (IMM5771, item 4) this is the only document shown. I have other methods like my SSLC marklist and Passport both showing my parents name and my birth date. Will these suffice to sponsor my parents ? Is there a way thru this ?

go get a new birth certificate or affidavit in lieu (and maybe provide an explanation)

Getting a new birth certificate is out of the question for now. Do you think that my School Certificate will suffice in this case ? What type of affidavit is required ? What should i write in here ?

School Certificate is not birth certificate........new birth certificate or affidavit in lieu......for affidavit you may need a lawyer.
