Dear All,

I have a question for you all.. my brother, who had 2 children, is separated from his wife. Son is in the custody of the brother and the Wife has custody of the daughter.
Now he is trying to sponsor his son. Will he need to provide medical for the daughter as well(not living with him) when sponsoring his son?

Brother is PR and both the son as well the daughter was included in the original application as a dependent, but they didn't do the landing.
thanks

What's his status in Canada? Is he a PR or citizen?

He should be able to sponsor just his son but you should provide more info to explain the exact circumstances.

I assume he got PR before his son was born?

Does he currently meet the PR residency requirement and is he in Canada?
yes, he is in Canada and meets all the requirements. But will he need the medical for the daughter as well to apply?

No - he can sponsor only the son with no medical for the daughter.

If this is the same brother you posted he was short by 2 days. If so he can’t sponsor until he is back into compliance.
