Hello, this is my first post. I wonder if this is a kinda of weird case. As I seldom heard of any Asian male married to a Muslim/Arab female. same as my friends. My wife and I met in China in 2009; when she was doing her exchange Chinese language course.. I was visiting my family and also attended my old university alumni. yes. i am not kidding. my current wife and I were alumni in CHINA..we had a date, then We lost contact after 2009, as you know facebook was blocked in China. I am a naturalized citizen for more than a decade living in British Columbia.
Long story short, after we found each other in 2015 again on the facebook. immediately we know we should be together. funny enough both of us had seen someone and became single again.

I flew to Tunis second week of Jan this year and we married in a week. No engagement, very small wedding with her parents at her home. Civil/Court marriage. Do you think CIC might think our marriage is rare and weird? so fast? technically we met each other almost 6 years ago. I had some email corresponding; but our romance relationship was short.. aka only from 2015.
I know we are interracial couple, different religion too.

Any thought? appreciate it.

CIC may very well be concerned by the extremely quick marriage. I would recommend that you visit each other at least once more before submiting a sponsorship application. She should apply for a TRV to visit you in Canada - even though it's likely to be refused.

Lots of people have interesting stories about how they met. My husband and I are both from North America - but we met each other (drunk) in a bar in Cardiff, Wales. So I don't think that part is unusual at all.

Your challenge is that you have a few red flags: very short courtship and fast marriage, different religous / ethnic backgrounds, small wedding. These can be things that concern CIC since they can indicate a relationship of convenience. You'll need to work a bit harder in your application to prove the relationship is genuine.

Hey , are you sure you were allowed to get married and received marriage certificate ? Tunisian laws forbid Tunisian women from Marrying non-mulsim men !

You should look into that , CIC might want to know how did you manage to marry her while you are not a Muslim !!

I was just going to post this.
A non Muslim man HAS to convert and have a certificate, this step alone takes 3+ months. There is no way around it.

yes. I am a Chinese muslim.. obviously i cant marry a Tunisian without being a Muslim. I dont even know if CIC knows there are Chinese Muslims out there.. but i think our kinda of Muslim. aka HUI, not sure if CIC sees us the same. It's hard to explain. some people do not view Hui as Muslims. cuz we are ethnically Han Chinese. maybe ancestors were Arab.. long long time ago. Our marriage was permitted and i have the certificate. We went to see Imam like 3 days after I arrived. They issued me a certificate as a Muslim or something. cuz all i was asked is to recite " Shahada" .. know that even as a kid in China.

In your first message you said you had a different religion than her ?!!! there is far more Muslims in China than in Tunisia .
You should be fine , race is not an issue , Tunisia (Canadian Embassy in Paris) has one of the shortest processing times.
