Hi All! First of all I would like to mention that this forum has been extremely helpful, I've received tons of help just by visiting this forum.

So, as the title explains, I am sponsoring my wife from Pakistan. She needs to do her medical and we need to submit it with the package. Has anyone's spouse recently done medical in Pakistan? Do we have to bring any sort of letter explaining why my spouse needs to do a medical? Who should be writing this letter?

I emailed IOM Islamabad for information but I got a very generic reply back regarding an appointment. I want to make sure that my wife has all the required documents even before I book an appointment for her.

Also, does she need to bring original passport as well as copies of passport? How many copies? In addition, how many photos does she need if the medical is to be done at IOM Islamabad.

Thanks again for all your responses and as usual, Best of Luck!!!!!!!

Hello
I got mine done at IOM KARACHI earlier this year. It is a long process not because a lot of things needed to be done but there are a lot of people and long waiting ques. When u call to book an appointment they will tell u what docs to bring. I took my original passport, letter from cic for IOM to keep in record for file numbers and dates, fee in cash. Photocopies of passport could be taken along or u can get it made over there too. The staff at iom is usually helpful. Do not take any one with u coz they won't let anyone enter the iom premises other than the applicant so it's a waste of time coz the attendants have to sit outside for the whole time. I went at 9 am and got done by 5 pm. I hope it won't take that long for u.
Bring ur polio vaccination card, that is also sent along with the medical. Better to get it done before hand.

Hi AHS,
I don't have any letter from CIC. I haven't submitted my Sponsorship package yet. The medical has to be done before I send in the package. Would they still do the medical without this letter?

They should do the medical as it is an upfront requirement. I didn't do mine upfront so had a medical request from CIC.
I am sure IOM can fwd ur medical results with reference to the passport number.
I didn't see anyone bringing any letters along.
U can call and check with IOM if they need anything in writing from the applicant when u book an appointment.

For upfront Medical you have to email IOM office with your information(Name, PP no, dob, upfront medical for spousal immigration, location where you want test to be done isb, khi or lhr) They will give you appointment date. Take Passport copy, cnic copy, your two pictures (according to cic specification) and fee (7000/- approx.) IOM will not let anyone inside other than you so better not take anyone with you as they have to wait outside. Also no parking facility in IOM, ISB office. Be on time.
