Hi Im citizen and wanted to sponsor my wife . Both are in Canada (Inland)

-Her status /pgwp expiring in May 2025/ She is waiting for trades express entry draw since Dec 2024 (- which no idea when will happen)

-Married in Aug 2024 / known each other - 2years now /living together

Any suggestion for last-minute spousal sponsor application here .
Really appreciated any help

Is there a reason you didn't submit the application months ago? I think the main advice is to get your sponsorship application in asap and to make sure it is complete.

Get the application in asap in that case. Shame you didn't earlier but it is what it is. Never rely on draws that haven't happened yet. We've seen that tactic go wrong for so many here. Anyway, that's history now. Focus on the spousal sponsorship application.

Once she gets AOR she can apply for an OWP.

Think 1-2 months these days but would look at threads from recent applications to confirm.

The sponsorship application does not give them status in Canada.

If you don't have AOR and the current work permit is expiring in less than two weeks, you can submit the OWP application without AOR.

The overall risk you've created for yourself by waiting so long to submit the sponsorship application is the possibility the sponsorship application may be returned as incomplete.
