Hi,
I am a Canadian citizen getting married to a kenyan this year. I have a question about the required amount I need to show to sponsor him. The form does not ask for an amount and I cant find information on this topic anywhere.Should I put down N/A or what should I do?
Can I also stay with him in nairobi as we wait for his application to go through? Please help!!
Thanks.

You do not need any income to sponsor a spouse - of course, if you have an income, it will show on your income tax.
If you stay with him in Nairobi, it will help when it comes to proving that you have a genuine marriage, but if you are out of Canada too long, you may not be considered to be a resident, in which case you won't be approved as a sponsor - you would also have to prove that you plan to come back to Canada. If you're just visiting him, there's no problem.

You don't need to show a required amount to sponsor him. They ask for your income and printout C and you should provide those because they ask but they will not deny you because of low income as long as you are not on welfare or bankrupt.

You can stay with him while you wait for the application but make sure you have somebody picking up your mail in Canada in case immigration tries to contact you.
