we just got married on Sep. 28, I'm a canadian citizen and planning to start his sponsorship application in the coming days, however I'm wondering if I should stay with him here in IRan or I should go back to Canada and wait for him.
After checking out the CIC website I found out it takes 69 days in Mississauga + 15 months in Ankara visa office . This timing is really worrying me since I feel it might take even longer than this, I have a return ticket to Canada on Oct. 28 but the thought of leaving him just kills me, we have been together for 5 years and every time we said goodbye to each other it was as if I was leaving a part of body behind. :( :( I'm really confused and don't know what is the best option. Is anyone in the same boat? Please help

Hello
We had a same story last year. My wife had to come back to canada and i just could say goodbye to her and stay here and wait for her. She sent our document last year and now we almost done. You have to choose the best option .consider about processing time now. When we applied prrocessing time was 5 month in ankara but now!!!!
My wife went to toronto and came back after 3 month ,she was here with me for 4 month and had to left me here again . Now she is in canada and im here alone for 3 month ! This is the only and quickest way .believe me! Thats frustrating but there is no choice .

Anything else let me know

Since you are a Canadian citizen, you can sponsor your husband while living outside of Canada and continue living with him.

PRs must be living in Canada in order to sponsor.

AS mentioned, Iranian applicants are going through ANkara now, so you might want to have a look at their thread, where a lot of people are in a similar position, and it will give you a better idea of the waiting time.
Most applicants are in your case (away from their partner) so don't hesitate to ask questions if needed!
Good luck with your application,
Sweden
