I havnt been on in a while but I have a new question!!??

On the residency application on the principal applicant (in my case my husband) they ask for the sponsors legal status in the country (since Im applying for him from costa rica where we are both are living) now im not sure if that has to be the residency card they would give me here or a resolution sheet they would give me once i have been aproved in Costa Rica. All I have at this moment is a sheet costa Rican imagration gives you once you have applied for their resendency here stating all the papers I´ve submitted them and that now they are being processed and now there is a waiting time (in a week im suppose to go and check and most likely the resolution sheet should be ready).

I would like to know what sheet would i have to send along with my husbands residency application for Canada of the three I mentioned above (photocopy of the costa rica residencce card? the resolution sheet? or the sheet of haven entered all documents to Costa Rican imagration for their residency saying its in process?

i know there is a process in between getting the resoltion sheet and the actual card, so i thought if It was the resolution sheet i could send would that be enough to send in with the application to Canada??

Thanks for all the past answers and for the ones to come! I really want to send the application before 2010 ends.

The requirement is that you have been legally admitted into that country for one year. So you need to send a copy of whichever of those docs proves you have been legally admitted for a year.

For my application, I emailed my visa office, and they told me specifically which documents to give, which were 1) the residence visa in my passport, and 2) the Alien residence Card which is the ID card all foreign workers here carry. But they also told ME to provide that info, because I am the principal applicant and it is my application. Are you sure as the sponsor, you also need to provide this proof?

My suggestion is to email your visa office in Costa Rica for the exact details.
