Hi. I hope you guys will help me but what should I work on first in order to sponsor my 8 year old daughter and common law partner. What is the first step? Landed as a PR in 2011. and that time I have a 3 year old daughter and a girlfriend before I leave Philippines to Canada. I didn't declare that I have a kid during that time cause when my mom applied for the Provincial Nominee Program around 2007 she put me in as single since my daughter was born on Jan 2008 and the application will then screwed up. As for my girlfriend of 9 years last year was a miserable year for us. i just called it quits for almost 7 months but then I went home in the Philippines just this March 28 , saw her and said let's have a fresh start so our relationship is back, Sadly i went back home here in Winnipeg yesterday , I was only granted a 5 week vacation .. So I was very depressed and homesick when I came back here couldn't sleep during the entire flight cause of I'm gonna leave them again for more years I don't know if when will i come back again. its really hard cause that's the first time I saw my daughter in the 5 years of not coming back to the Philippines. I really need to get them ASAP. Can you guys give me some suggestions on what to do? should I sponsor my girlfriend under common law partner and marry her here or go back to the Philippines and marry her there? Or can I get my daughter first and have my girlfriend come here afterwards.? FYI: She (daughter) use my last name. please help me guys I'm in dying desperate to get them, I don't want another year or 2 without them. my life is so complicated and I miss them now more than anything in the world.. Thank you

You can never sponsor your daughter. By failing to declare her when you immigrated, she is forever excluded from being sponsored by you as a family member. If you lived with your girlfriend for at least a year before immigrating to Canada then you can never sponsor her either and marrying will not fix this.

There's really two ways around this:

1) Your girlfriend applies to immigrate to Canada on her own as a skilled worker or through one of the provincial nominee classes and includes her daughter as a dependent. In this case you would not be sponsoring them. Your girlfriend would have to qualify to immigrate on her own.
2) You give up your PR status, return home and apply to immigrate to Canada from scratch including your girlfriend and daughter in your application.

thank you for the reply.
If you were in my situation what would you do? which will be the faster timeline for the two ways that you suggest? This is just terrible for me right now :( :(

and the thing about my girlfriend is if she applied as as a skilled worker or under MPNP is she doesn't have a job for the past 6 years and her only job before that is working with her aunt as volunteer. She only finished sophomore year in College with a course of Hotel and Room Management. even though she didn't finish her studies she is an excellent cook and can do some hotel work. For the past 5 years since I immigrated here in Canada (Winnipeg) I send money twice a month to support her and my daughter. So my question is will this affect her application big time? please cheer me up. thank you

Just my opinion, but based on what you say on your GF's background, it's a long shot for her to immigrate on her own as a skilled worker, unless you can somehow get arranged employment for her (again, long shot).

If you feel as terrible as you say you do right now, then you will do scylla's #2 option. Since you already have work experience in Manitoba, then you can apply as an MPNP skilled worker with MB experience, or under CEC in Express Entry.
