Hello,
ive started to fill out the sponsorship papers before i leave for cuba aqnd my husband can then fill out his paperwork. He has started to get the documents he needs, letter saying he is free to marry, police check and prints, birth certificate, passport. Do those need to be authenticated by forgein affairs and then legalized by the consulate like i had to have mine done for the marriage? and for the sponsorship i am so confused with filing for family class or for spousal. i reside and am a citizen of canada and he resides and is a citizen of cuba. so we are applying for him to come to canada, during the process i would like to be able to apply for visitor visa or work permit for him to be able to visit during the 10-12 month wait. as well i would like to be able to go to cuba and visit him during that time. Thanks for your help!

Please note that as there are many cases of fraudulent marriages from Cuba, simply to obtain immigration status in Canada, IRCC are likely to heavily scrutize any sponsorship application. Too many sponsors have been abandoned by Cuban spouses after reaching Canada and IRCC will be checking everything, possibly requiring an interview as well. I hope that you are not being scammed....

You mentioned that he was getting his soltera but you also say you are married?
The best thing to do is follow the guides and forms to the letter. All of the documents in Spanish must be translated into English and notarized. I recommend that you buy extra notarized copies of everything.
You can go to Cuba and visit him any time you want - that doesn't change.
