Sponsoring FROM America - Question about married name

I am currently living in the US with my husband, we got married here almost two years ago. We are preparing to apply for his PR, however I have one question right now (probably many more to come). When we got married in the US, I changed my last name to his. I never changed it in Canada though so all my Canadian documents are still in my Maiden name. When applying for his PR, I should probably use my Maiden name right? Also, is it ok that I never changed it in Canada? I kind of don't want to...or at least wait till we make it there first.

Thanks for any help, sorry if this question was repeated a bunch (I tried Google first!)

So you are the Canadian then, and the sponsor and your hubby is US citizen?

If that is the case then use the name listed on your identity documents.

yes, the name on your PASSPORT. if you would like to prove that any other documents (American ones with you last name as your husbands) you should send CIC a copy of your American Marriage certificate (well, you will send it anyways :D)

Yes, your travel documents dictates the name that you should use,
and you need to provide information about Income tax in Canada
and more documents.... so, you will need to use your Canadian ID

Good luck
