Hi Experts,

I have question in regard to sponsor my cousin in India to study in Canada. I live here in Canada for almost 1.5 years as PR and work fulltime with one the major banks in Canada. I have a cousin who is interested to study in Canada however can't show bank funds or pay tuition fees. He has reached out to me to check if I can help in anyway.

I don't have much info on how sponsoring cousin for Study visa works. Would you be able to suggest if this is possible first place? If yes, what all thing I would need to do to ensure he meets all the criteria of study permit.

P.S. I know about acceptance letter from Study Institution and IELTS score.

Thank you & Stay Safe!!

all that you can say is that you can provide accommodation and maybe food and adaptation however you yourself haven't been in Canada for that long. If let's say you have been in Canada for 3-5 years is ok but not sure 1,5 years

Thanks Konan for your advice. Me and my wife both are earning so we have ability to support my cousin, would that not be enough or living more years would be better?

Also, What documents I may need to produce to support his application?

your rental agreement, then your pay, how much money you have etc.. and you also need to write a letter to the embassy stating that you will help adaptation process etc
