Hi Everyone!

I'm sponsoring my common law partner for PR. We've already mailed in the application. Everything was complete and so far, so good.

However, soon I'll be changing employers.

In the application, they asked for a letter of employment. Since I'm changing jobs, would I need to submit a new one? I've scoured the internet for an answer, but obviously haven't done a good enough job because I'm still uncertain if I need to :(

I'm hesitant to send one in if I don't need to because I don't want to slow down our application in any way. Any thoughts?

Thanks for your time!

Have you been approved as sponsor yet? Once your application reaches the visa office you indicated you can probably just tell them in an email that you have changed jobs. If it's still waiting at Mississauga I think it would be extremely difficult for them to match up your employment letter with your partner's application. I really can't imagine it would be a dire thing for you to send an employment letter immediately especially if you're already approved as sponsor... informing them through email should be sufficient, but let others more experienced weigh in as well.
