Greetings!

I have filled and submitted an application for both my spouse and dependent child, as for the letter that i had submitted with the application for sponsorship/PR, i have mentioned that i will be leaving the current country im in and live in Canada with my spouse and dependent child.

15 days ago i have received COPR and a request to submit my dependent childs passport to get the visa, but haven't received any passport request for my spouse.

My question is, can i take my dependent child and land in Canada without having my spouse with me? Is that going to affect my dependent child's application, and maybe even in the future when he applies for citizenship? And also, Knowing that i have applied for my spouse and have mentioned in the letter that i will go to Canada with my spouse and child? Im forced to take my dependent child’s alone so he could apply to a university before the deadline.

What is your status in Canada?

So you are sponsoring your spouse as principal applicant and the child as dependent child?

If that's correct, then no: the principal applicant must land first, or with the child. The dependent of the principal applicant cannot land before.

Your presence is less of an issue.

Are you actually moving to Canada permanently? That was part of the sponsorship requirement.

i have two separate applications for my spouse and dependent child, my dependent child being a principal applicant in his own application and the same case for my spouse.

Note: my spouse is my dependents child’s step mother and not his real biological mother, he is 21 years old so he doesn't need a consent from his mother.

Eventually yes i am actually moving to Canada permanently, but in the mean time im aiming for landing my dependent child in Canada, getting his pr card, and getting him into a university before the deadline.

As for my spouse, when i come back from canada, i will contact the ircc and ask them about the visa.

Odd, there was no need to have done these as separate apps, but in that case, shouldn't be an issue as separate.

Note, usually the epxectation is that the sponsor is arriving at same time or before, but I'm not aware they make a big deal of it in cases where the reasons are straight forward.

Just clarifying the child is your biological child? If so you must have received citizenship after they were born and they never moved with you to Canada.
