Hi, everyone,

My dad is living in Canada and is a permanent resident there. I am 26 and living in the UK. Is my dad able to sponsor me?

No, unless that he is unmarried, his parents/grandparents are deceased and that he doesn't have any children/grandchildren/aunts/uncles/nieces/nephews in Canada.

If your dad is living in Alberta, Saskatchewan or Manitoba, he might be able to sponsor you under the provincial nominee program family stream.

Are you a student who has been enrolled continuously in full time study since before the age of 22? If so, you are still eligible to be sponsored as a dependent child.

Doubtful that he was included or examined in the fathers application.

Thanks for your replies. No I am working now, but temporarily living at home. I was not born when my father got his Canadian visa.

I never thought it would be so difficult to immigrate to Canada.
