hi, i got my PR card in march 2004, immigrated as a dependent on my dad who was the principal applicant. i was 19 at that time, had just finished high school. then i got admission in a medical school in my home country, India and went back to join school, after staying in canada for 2 mnths. I would come to visit my parents in vacations. my PR card is about to expire in march 2009. till now i have stayed for just 10 months in total. m in canada at the moment, but i have to go back, as m still left with one year of coursework.
i want to know:
1) as i am about to lose my PR status, can my parents sponsor for me all over again? though i am older, 24 now, can i be considered a dependent, as my parents support me financially, am not married, and am enrolled continuously in a school?
2) is the fact that i have lost PR status once gonna affect my sponsorship? ( i intend to stay in canada only once i'm done with med school, n pursue further studies here)
3) in case i am eligible for a re-sponsorship, how long will it take for me to be back in canada, with my family, after my dad applies for sponsorship?

Your parents could apply to sponsor you again - as long as you have been enrolled continuously in post-secondary education since before you turned 22 years of age. The fact that you have continued your studies in your home country and, therefore, were unable to satisfy the PR residency requirements should not work against you.

If you Dad files a dependent child sponsorship application through India, it should be finalized, through New Delhi, in 2-8 months - plus about a month to assess him as an eligible sponsor at the Case Processing Centre within Canada.
