Sponsoring a non-accompanying spouse

Hi, I would like to know if anyone has experienced coming to Canada alone (non-accompanying spouse) and then sponsored their spouse?

How long did you have to wait before to be able to be a sponsor? Do you have to be a minimum of time in the country before to be able to sponsor?
How long did it take for your spouse to join you in Canada?
Did you take the in-land or out-land path?

Any tips? I am planning to change my spouse from accompanying to non-accompanying to get more points, but would it be wise? or worth it?

I'm starting to feel hopeless about this immigration process, any response is welcome
Thanks in advance

You don't need to wait and there is no minimum time.

Depends on where you guys are from and how you apply.

Inland or outland depends on your own circumstances.

Thanks! I'm French and he is brazilian. Was thinking to get him a tourist visa and once he is in the country apply for sponsorship and open work visa.
Thanks for your answer

If he is Brazilian, you should apply outland. Sao Paulo is a very fast office.

I have a similar situation. I am already a PR with declared non-accompanying spouse. My spouse is from India. Do you suggest to apply Inland or Outland?

Also, what all documents would I need to prove our marriage?

I already had her on my application for the PR, where I had uploaded her Passport (having my name in the spouse field). Our Indian marriage certificate.

Depending on whether your wife can show strong ties to India like a good job, property in her name, etc she will probably not be granted a trv. If you can't get a trv you have to apply outland. The application package will give you ideas of what to include. Communication over various apps, shared bank accounts, bills for the same address, pictures of you both at various times throughout dating , engagement, marriage, etc. It would be best to show that you are employed or have sufficient funds to support you both before you apply for sponsorship. Inland and outland both take around 1 year.
