Hello again,
We've finally submitted the spouse sponsorship/immigration package to the CIC. When my wife did her application, she was employed. However, this past week there has been a lot of turbulence at her job and she is considering either quitting or possibly collecting unemployment due to a wage dispute and some other problems. We're looking into whether she would be eligible for unemployment and if not, we'll find a way to manage. It would just help to ease everything while she tries to find a new job.
My question is do we need to keep the CIC informed while she transitions from one job to another? Also, if she collects unemployment during her job search, will we need to inform them of this? Will her collecting unemployment hinder our application in any way? Like would they think since she's collecting it there that there could be a bigger risk of her needing it in Canada? If this is the case we might try to manage without it, but it could be hard.
Thank you for any help.
