We are about to submit our Family Class Spousal Sponsorship packet, for my husband. It's an Outland application, he's an American citizen currently residing in the States.
We visit each other three times a year, roughly (we get three weeks of vacation each, so we use those for three week long visits a year).
Because I have my own apartment with no housemates, he usually comes up to Canada 2x a year and I go to the US 1x a year.
Our next visit is me going down to the States in November, and I assume nothing changes for me (as I am the sponsor, so I am just going for a week and coming back) - I just do my usual declarations that I am visiting family for the holiday (Thanksgiving) and so on.
But for the next time he comes, is there anything we need to do? I assume he likely needs to declare that he's got an open family class immigration thing going on? Do we need to make sure we get visitor records or anything? He's always got his return ticket purchased (we tend to purchase them as round trip tickets), and he's still got his apartment and job in the States, as proof he's still got ties there.
I just want to make sure we have all our ducks in a row - if it means that I have to go down to see him until this is all done, I will make sure we do it that way, but I figured there's probably allowances for him visiting Canada, I just want to make sure we're aware so we declare things correctly.
