I'm currently waiting for my PR to be approved, and will get married by the end of 2022.
At that time we are thinking about doing the following for my future wife:

  1. Spouse comes to Canada with a visitor visa, married to me who has Permanent Residency
  2. Wife applies for Open Work Permit
  3. I initiate her PR sponsorship at the same time
  4. While we wait for her to get anything approved she will take on some studies that will have no more than 3 months duration, or work once she gets her OWP while she waits for the PR sponsorship

Problem is I cannot find anywhere anything clear about what my future wife will require in order to apply for the OWP? I assume that Biometrics will be necessary (hopefully those will be provided already when she gets her visitor visa, she is not ETA eligible), but what about English tests (IELTS)? Will she also need those? And what other information/documentation she will require for the OWP as my spouse?

And regarding point 2, is it true that she can apply at a Port Of Entry, and it would technically be completed on that same day? Assuming she has all the required documentation, and is eligible for an OWP.

I have tried to look for this information on the IRCC/CIC documentation, but there is nothing clear about this there.
