Hi everyone,
I'm sponsoring my parents for immigration to Canada. I have two questions about IMM 5409 form.

The third table in the checklist is : Statutory Declaration of Common Law Union (IMM 5409).
1st question: So I'm sponsoring my parents myself (just two of them). AND I don't have a co-signer. So I don't need to fill out this form. Is this correct?

Next, in the seventh document in the supporting document sections:
Proof of principal applicant's relationship to an accompanying dependent spouse or common-law parter.
-marriage certificate, OR
-Statutory Declaration of Common Law Union (IMM 5409) -To be completed also by the principal applicant and their common-law partner, if applicable.

2nd question: Again, since my parents are being sponsored, I only need to provide a marriage certificate of my parents, and I don't need to fill out IMM 5409. Is this correct?

Thank you all very much in advance.

You are correct on both counts.

For the first one, mark N/A on the checklist and for the 2nd, put a tick nest to "Marriage Certificate".

Hi
As my wife is a co singer on my application to sponsor my parents, so do i need to fill form Statutory Declaration of Common-Law Union [IMM 5409] as I also have a marriage certificate.
As my parents also have marriage certificate do they still need to fill this form.

update
Statutory Declaration of Common-Law Union [IMM 5409]
To be completed by you, the sponsor and co signer only if the latter is a common-law partner.
as we are legally married couple so this should not apply to us. Plz correct me if i am wrong.

In supporting document number 7 either will work, marriage certificate or IMM 5409

Looks like I answered my own questions ;) ;D
