Hi All, I am on H1B Visa in USA and my spouse is in USA on H4B visa. My spouse is a canadian PR and i was wondering if she can sponsor me for PR by staying in USA. She has stayed in canada for 6 months 3years back. Thanks.

Your wife, as Canadian PR must reside in Canada to sponsor you. Only Canadian citizens can sponsor while living in an other country. Also, remember that as a Canadian PR you must reside in Canada for a minimum of 2 years each 5 year period. If she hasn't lived there for 3 years she should probably head back pretty soon if she wants to keep her PR status...

Keeping your permanent resident status

Your permanent resident status allows you to live in Canada, but there is also a time limit on how long you can live outside the country. To keep your status as a permanent resident, you must live in Canada for at least two years within a five-year period.
