Just noticed question 14 on sponsor checklist which states: Photocopy of your marriage certificate, if you have a co-signer and he or she is your spouse.

I understand that to mean that I DO NOT include photocopy of marriage certificate if I don't have a co-signer

Am I reading that correct?

1. If you were sponsoring another relative, and your spouse was the co-signer, then you would need a copy of your marriage certificate
2. If you are sponsoring your spouse, you don't have a co-signer, but it still would be required to prove the marriage, but not if you were common law.

Yes, if you are sponsoring your husband or wife, you have to include your marriage certificate as part of the proof your relationship is genuine.

My wife is sponsoring me and I'm the main applicant. I'm attaching marriage certificate with my file do i need to put photocopy of it with the sponsorship applicant as well? Do I need to tick "photocopy of your marriage certificate if you have a co-signer and he or she is your spouse"?

I would throw one in with the Sponsorship application as well. It won't hurt anything to include an extra copy!
