Hello there

Apologies if this question has been asked before.

My Uncle is a Canadian citizen living in Ontario and I would like for him to sponsor me and my family to come and live in Canada. We would like to stay for a few years or for whatever length we allowed to stay under the sponsorship rules.I am an Irish Citizen but my girlfriend is Chinese. We also have a two year old child who is an Irish Citizen.Does anyone know if its possible for my girlfriend and child to join me under the sponsorship visa ?

Thanks so much.
P

If he is your only living relative, he COULD sponsor... but ONLY you. He cannot sponsor your girlfriend and child. If your parents, cousins, grandparents, aunts or uncles are still alive, then the chances of him being able to sponsor you are slim to none.

So all of my relatives including parents must be dead before he could potentially sponsor me ?

1. Your uncle to sponsor, must be single, have no children, his parent/grandparents deceased and he doesn't have a brother/sister/aunt/uncle/niece/nephew in Canada.

I just asked a question. I do not think i need to explain my reasons for leaving.
Can anyone tell me if my girlfriend and child would be eligible to join me under the family sponsorship programme ?

No. Not unless you are PR of Canada first, and then you either marry her or live with her for a year (after being a PR) and then apply to sponsor them while you are in Canada.

1. The child has to be included in the application. If they are a common/law couple in that they have lived together for 1 year, then she has to be included as a dependent also.
