Hi there,

We are applying outland and My partner (common-law) just got a letter saying she was approved as a sponsor and met the requirements. Does this mean that the application has now been sent to my visa office in Sydney?

Also, we lived together exactly one year to the day but were unsure if they would grant us eligible because of a technicality on dates. So if she was approved as a sponsor does that mean that our common-law status has been approved? or do they check that in step two when my part of the application is processed in Sydney?

Yes - this means that your application is in the process of being forwarded to Sydney.

No - this doesn't mean that your common law status has been approved. Only the sponsor is examined as part of the first step. Sydney will assess your relationship including your common law status.
