sponsor & applicant going to a common country for short period - any probs?

Hello everyone,
i needed to know if my sponsor (in canada since nov'09) and myself can go to india(country of citizenship) for a short period of about 1 month (max). Actually my sis in law is getting married and we need to be present for the wedding (obviously). but my husband is worried that it may cause problems in my PR application leading to delays.
I wanted to know if that was the case? can a sponsor and applicant not leave the country (canada and from where applicant is currently residing) even for a short period?
What precautions should be take so as to not delay the process in any way.

It is possible if the sponsor is not a citizen and they try to contact him and find that he is not in Canada that they may believe that he's not residing in Canada at the moment and will therefore refuse the application. Still, it is only a short vacation. If you do make the trip, make sure that somebody is checking your mail and answering machine every day to let you know immediately if they try to contact. You can also contact the call centre and ask for their advice. If you let them know beforehand that you are outside Canada on vacation for a month, maybe there is no problem with that.
