I created a topic a while ago Nov3rd, and I asked a question and I don't know how it was deleted.(suddenly the topic disappeared ) so I creating this topic today as I think it might help others
I am still legally married and in the process of divorce.
I chose to apply for my partner before I get my divorce from my X husband.

I only sent the lawyers info plus the court registration # and I was accepted as a sponsor today which is like 9 days after I sent it .

SO u can sponsor before your divorce as long as u prove that u are legally seperated.

That is right... what you can not do is marry again while not legally divorced.
that will be good reason to deny the sponsorship.

true, in my case, I have a sam sex partner and we applied as conjugal partners so there was no need to get marry before sponsorship

will it take longer time to assess the application from CIC if the sponsor is a divorced person?

No as long as u prove ur divorce , or ur seperation
For my seperation i used the tax info from few years showing seperated and divorce registration number for the claim. I lived with my new partner for one full year so a hotel note showed that we were together for one year.
