Hello Folks,
Background:
-------------
we submitted family application with minors in Oct, 2022 and took test in Feb, 2023. Spouse already has BG completed (criminality was passed after FP Req), but my BG is in process as of pending security clearance (ATIP notes, secrurity clearance -> status: in process, triage:L2, location: review ready - PM01), I know it takes standard 110 days for security clearance or normally 6-8 months, which I foresee to be completed in July-Aug, 2023 (started in Feb, 2023). As of my BG in process, spouse and minors application is deferred due to further processing (DM, Oath). I don't have RQ yet - hopefully won't be in due course, and we both passed the test in first attempt as well.
Plan:
-----
I don't want to jeopradize my family members' processing due to my delay. Should I ask for the split/de-couple? Would it have any negative impact on either my application or would aid further delays due to splitting process? I understand that it would be the sole discretion of IRCC and/or the officer to whether accept or deny our request to split the family/group application. I also do understand that I'm in service standard timeline wise, but we are perplexed that it would exceed 12+ months due to my security clearance in process.
Please share your experiences and I request esteemed VIP members to chime in and share your expert opinion.
Thanking you in anticipation!
