Dear Members:
I apologize if this sort of question was previously answered in any other thread.
My father's name is written differently in my Sister's Passport (Father's name: F R Khan) and in my own passport (Father's name: Fazlur Rahman Khan, the full form). My sister is a Canadian Citizen and I will be applying for Ontario PNP Nomination within a very short while.

Now my query is will it be okay or do i have to do the Notary or any other procedure to make it clear that F R Khan and Fazlur Rahman Khan are same person?

Looking for expert's opinion. Thanks in Advance.

Hi,
I may be wrong but I think that parents' names are not included in the Canadian Passport.
Either way, unless you are claiming ties and need a proof of relationship with your sister, it may not even matter.
Hope this helps!

Hello there,

I feel like I am too in the same situation BUT not sure exactly, in my passport, my father name is mentioned as Narendar Chopra while in ECA report (and including my first degree transcripts), it is mentioned as Karan Narendra Venus Chopra (my name - father name - mother name - surame).

Will it be an issue? If yes, what possibly I can do to confirm that both names are same.

Please help and suggest.

Thanks
Karan

Hi,
Also, I would refrain from calling it a 'spelling mistake' because that would be if your father's name was misspelled. From your explanation, it seems that your sister's document only bears the initials for your father's name, whereas your passport bears his full name. If this is the case, that is what you should mention and not refer to it as a 'spelling mistake'.
Also, other ways to show your and your parents' names are: Birth certificate, passport, other high school certificates (anything that bears your and your parents' names).

Hi,
Which of your names is the name you use? Also, there is an option in the form (and on most govt. forms: immigration or otherwise), where you are asked if you have ever used another name. You should mention it there. You may call or email OOPNP directly, and ask them about it. Sometimes, they might just say that it woks as is, and you may not need to provide any additional docs.

Yes on my first degree - Bachelor while on my postgraduate, it is just Karan Chopra.

The difference is like this -

In my passport, my father name is mentioned as Narendar Chopra while in ECA report (and including my first degree transcripts), it is mentioned as Karan Narendra Venus Chopra (my name - father name - mother name - surame). In my bachelor degree which I done from Mumbai University, they have to write in the format student name - father name - mother name - surame.

Hello,

I use KARAN CHOPRA only while in my passport, I got the father name mentioned as Narendar Chopra.

The issue is in my first degree where the spell of my father nname is mentioned as Narendra Chopra (r first and a after that).

Will it be a problem.

Thanks
K
